What you bring to the table:
- 5+ years of experience in a DBA position, with demonstrated increasing levels of responsibility
- 5+ yearsâ?? experience with ETL processes using SSIS
- 2+ years of experience with AWS and SQL Server via RDS and EC2 is a major plus
- Expert knowledge of SQL, T-SQL, and Spatial Data Types.
- Ability to train junior team members on the ins and outs of SQL Server
- Ensure all database servers are backed up in a way that meets the businessâ??s Recovery Point Objectives (RPO)
- Test backups to ensure we can meet the businessâ?? Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)
- Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends
- Configure SQL Server monitoring utilities to minimize false alarms
- When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes
- Provide our development team a list of the most resource-intensive queries and suggest ways to improve performance
- Design indexes for existing applications, choosing when to add or remove indexes
- Document the companyâ??s database environment
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field is a plus
