Business Intelligence Intern Loc: Baltimore, MD

Responsibilities

  • The Business Intelligence Intern will extend the capabilities of the technology team in a variety of ways, including but not limited to the following:
  • erform quality assurance checks on data, reports and presentations.
  • Analyze key business metrics.
  • Act as a liaison between teams.
  • Assist in creating user documentation.
  • Develop an understanding of the data used within the company to enable appropriate use of data in report design.
  • Data Analysis Perform data quality checks and investigation on outliers, such as renewals >= $10,000.
  • Data Presentation Develop reports from Exact Target that show subscriber engagement; support CS in manual pulling of call center data and input into spreadsheets for reporting purposes.
  • Predictive Analytics Perform correlation, covariance, and regression analysis to measure the effectiveness of our RFM models through
  • Excels Analysis ToolPak, Tableau, or open source statistical programs (Python).
  • Recurring Activities help manage the BI scrum process (that also incorporates
  • Billing Ops analysts & Chenna) via scrum notes, running of the retrospective, status updates, JIRA ticket management.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications

  • Junior/Rising Senior preferred.Mathematics, Business Intelligence, Analytics, Quantitative Analysis, Actuarial Science, or related field of study.
  • Youre smart, curious, and a self-starter.
Onboarding:

Prior to Day 1:

  • Intern has opportunity to ask questions to team/manager through e-mail.
  • Intern, if interested, can review our public website to prepare for first day.
  • Internally -- provide a workstation w/ PC and necessary access to programs & typical onboarding procedures.
Day 1:

  • Review companys mission and goals.Provide information about company rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Introduce interns to fellow employees they will be working with in the future.
  • Networking opportunity through lunch.
  • Start to establish learning objectives and a plan of action to meet those objectives.
  • First 5 days:Complete plan to have finite objectives throughout internship.
  • Provide intern with real opportunity to add value to the business.
  • For example, a BI intern could update our report inventory and publish that workbook to our SR Reports Tableau Online.
  • Sit in with CS.
Throughout Internship:

  • Regular meetings with mentor/manager.Mid-point check-in.
  • Showcase intern work when possible.
  • If warranted, have intern help recruit like-minded students.
  • Encourage intern to participate in 2017 Agora Internship Program activities and events.
