Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day management and leadership to the payroll staff, including direction, support, and guidance with regard to their overall job goals, responsibilities, and accountabilities.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness in the payroll process for Canada and the United States.
  • Establish, document, and manage payroll internal controls emphasizing data integrity, security and compliance.Maintain knowledge of all legal, federal, and state requirements and government reporting regulations affecting payroll, tax and garnishments. Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Lead the continued implementation and improvement of the Ceridian Dayforce HCM product to ensure maximum payroll process and data analytics capability.
  • Serve as the key contact to the vendor for vendor relationships.Lead the time and labor management process (currently use Kronos iSeries) to ensure product is used to full capability in support of internal requirements.
  • Work internally with corporate tax, finance, operations leaders, and HR leaders to address matters relating to payroll and HRIS.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all corporate and individual data.
  • Ensure progressive and innovative ideas and processes are researched and implemented to increase productivity of the department and provide analytic data that is of value to end-users, particularly as it relates to KPI and labor management.Assess and improve the process for labor management, ensuring key stakeholders receive the information required.
  • Serve as the key liaison with corporate office to manage long-term incentive taxation matters for both regular and expatriate employees in North America (US, Canada, Mexico, Brazil).
  • Act as the key internal and external contact for audits of payroll; provide support as necessary during defined benefit and defined contribution audits.
  • Your Profile10+ Years ExperienceBachelor of Science degree in Accounting, HR Management, or Business AdministrationManagement experience in a HRIS/Payroll environment requiredExperience with tax and payroll aspects related to short and long-term incentive plans and expatriate tax requiredCPP Certification highly desirableExperience with Ceridian Dayforce HCM and Kronos highly desirableAutomotive manufacturing experience desired
