  • The SAP Application Manager role is to manage the implementation and ongoing support of an SAP system and integrated. This is a management role with a hands on component.
  • The hands on component requires the manager to be fluent in configuration of one or more of the following SAP modules: FI/CO, MM, SD, QM.
  • The role will also have responsibility for assisting in identifying requirements, design specifications, configuration, quality assurance and management for the SAP Applications.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The manager must be able to lead a team of employees while working under general direction of senior management to plan, organize and direct work related to the SAP ECC 6.0.
  • This position is accountable for managing the all enterprise applications from a technical and functional perspective.
  • The manager will be have responsibility for performance evaluation, salary review, hiring and other performance related decisions. In this role, the manager will oversee the teams that support SAP and integration.
  • We are looking for someone who can provide leadership in the coordination and allocation of resources, both employees and contractors, for applications support, delivery of enhancement requests and project delivery support for all enterprise applications including SAP.
  • The ideal candidate is someone who has thorough knowledge in the design, build, integration and support of SAP ECC 6.0 systems aligning these technologies with other internal systems to solve and support current business and future initiatives.
  • This role ensures that IT Application standards are followed. The applications manager will also be looked upon to contribute to the strategy, delivery and maintenance of Calumets SAP ECC modules, while managing Service Level Agreements and all aspects of systems analysis, design, development, installation, maintenance and enhancement for mission-critical application systems.
  • The role is responsible for developing updating and assuring adherence to the SDLC processes and development standards.
  • It is an expectation that this role understand Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, keeps current with industry trends, informs IT and business customers, stays current with corporate needs and anticipates where SAP technologies can provide solutions.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or related discipline; or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 7 years of experience in managing SAP or leading SAP teams in strategic planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of SAP system, application, infrastructure service or other technology areas
  • 4 years' experience in project management of multiple major development projects using formal project management methodologies, understanding of business operations and SAP applications, change management, conflict resolution and management of SAP technical resources
  • 5 years' detailed understanding and SAP experience: in driving strategic planning, development, implementation, and maintenance of SAP systems.
  • Knowledge of SAP data dictionary and common SAP tables
  • 10 years of applicable focused SAP applications experience and at least
  • 5 years of SAP project management experience, using the ASAP methodology for SAP project delivery.
  • A demonstrable track record of working successfully with technical support personnel, end users and business management.
  • 4 full life cycle implementations of SAP and/or support-Stack upgrades.
  • Offshore application management services (AMS) experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
  • Ability to lead teams working on multiple projects
  • Ability to lead and manage under conditions of ambiguity and uncertainty.
  • Proven organizational skills in working across organizational boundaries and reporting lines - ability to work in a matrix environment as required.
  • Solid understanding of project and software development using ASAP or and Agile methodologies and can demonstrate proficiency in the applied use of systems and process analysis tools. Full system life cycle experience, including software development lifecycle methodologies.
  • Successful implementation of a large scale SAP deployment across multifunctional modules
  • Ability to work across all levels of the organization, both technical, non-technical and management.
  • Extensive knowledge of multiple functional areas in the SAP environment, active business processes, business areas, as well as industry.
  • Successful implementation of an SAP Center of Excellence at a large company
