Job description

  • The IT SAP BASIS Administrator will serve as a member of a team that supports a full suite of SAP modules across a global organization.
  • The individual that fills this position will work within a team environment to provide BASIS support in the planning, execution, and delivery of SAP.
  • Maintain SAP performance by planning and executing SAP tuning strategies.Work with the team to investigate and resolve issues found in the environment Install and upgrade SAP Systems as required Perform peripheral device definition and configuration Develop/implement system copies and data refreshes as required Provide support for non-SAP products that integrate with SAP as required Administer transport setups and provide trouble shooting Maintain the multiple SAP instances that comprise the SAP environment (development, test and production).
  • Introduce technical changes into the environment using a structured approach that minimizes risk and achieves high reliability, availability and performance of each SAP instance.
  • Bachelors or other degree in Computer Science (or equivalent education)
  • .5+ years of SAP BASIS work experience,Experience in one or more components such as Java Stack, BI, Business Objects, PI/PO, Portal, SRM, CRM and MDM .It would be advantageous to have experience or knowledge of SuSE Linux, database administration (Oracle, SQL Server) and network administration.
  • Experience in Solution Manager for ITSM, Technical Monitoring and Cha RM. Occasional travel may be required.Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate to various levels of management.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business processes, technologies, and environments.Excellent organizational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.Must be proactive and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams.Ability to work in pressure situations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle, feel, type, and write.
  • The employee in this role is occasionally required to stand; walk, kneel or crouch and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to draft, write and enter necessary data for reports, business correspondence, and/or procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present/communicate information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
