Business Analyst w/ Accounting MIS background loc: New York, NY

  • In Finance Change we work across the entire CFO division to ensure that we execute the strategic design and implementation of any major changes to our processes and systems.

  • We aim to deliver strategic initiatives using leading project management and business analysis.
  • Basel Measurement and Reporting (BMR) Line function within CFO division Basel capital compliance and MIS reporting globally across regulators (i.E. FINMA, PRA, IHC).
  • In addition, global consolidated group Balance Sheet MIS reporting is also done out of BMR group.
  • Firm needs to enhance current Balance Sheet reporting to produce multiple view of balance sheet MIS capabilities that are specific to each regulatory jurisdictions (IHC, PRA, FINMA) and ability to generate Line of Business (LOB) view with increased level of granularity.
  • The current automated solution Asset Ratio Tracking System (ARTS) (for consolidated group B/S Reporting) is not scalable to meet the growing B/S Reporting requirements from multiple Regulators.
  • It also does not directly reconcile back to the GL at required granularity, as expected by our Regulators.
  • This is a contractor / analyst role focusing on FINMA / PRA within the Interim State work-stream of the overall Balance Sheet program.
Some responsibilities include:
  • Ability to perform detailed data analysis tasks that includes accessing several systems either through GUI (OBIEE, business objects, or any other reporting tool) or through back-end SQL access.
  • Working knowledge of various products in-terms of data sourcing, enrichments and trial balance creation for OTC Derivatives, Security Financing, Loans, Cash Securities.
  • Prior experience in financial control function with clear knowledge and understanding of balance sheet, off balance sheet, and P&L general ledger postings.
  • Ability to create front-to-back view of data flow based on identifying data linkages across systems.
  • Prior experience in regulatory reporting function with limited background on Fed filings FRY9C, FFIEC002, FRY14 A, etc.
  • Knowledge of investment banking Product Control, Financial Accounting and/ or Operations processesAble to perform in high-pressure environmentAble to multitask and work on multiple projects at the same time

Work Experience
  • 5-10+ years of experience in Financial Services IndustryDeveloping and implementing process and system improvement solutionsBusiness Analyst experience requiredCriticality:Strong justification for role: ATR required to hire Spot LVR BA to replace a contractor who left the bank in December.Impacts if the role is not staffed: Delivery timelines have already been impacted and will be hampered further to delivery regulatory reporting for Client 270 Leverage Ratio for FINMAIf related to regulatory work, name of program and key regulatory deliverables related to the role, and responsibilities: Balance Sheet Interim Solution, working on PRA / FINMA jurisdiction balance sheet roll-out as part of the wider BSLEC Portfolio.-
