SQL Applications Database Administrator will perform the lead role in managing the support of enterprise databases that support our applications. They must ensure the optimal performance and security of all production databases, advise management of potential risks and mitigations, and proactively take steps to ensure smooth performance. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Monitor, maintain and manage SQL Server 2008. Implement and maintain database security. Establish and maintain documentation and standards. Perform database capacity planning and involved in server capacity planning. Provide general technical troubleshooting and consultation to the development team. Provide SQL Reporting Services (SRS), analysis cubes, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and analysis services. Perform integration design, production, and implementation. Develop, revise and implement policies, standards, procedures and guidelines necessary to effectively administer the database environment. Plan and conduct structured testing of database designs to confirm functionality and performance. Perform routine and customary operational and monitoring activities to ensure the database environment is stable and capable of meeting ongoing business needs. Optimize SQL queries and jobs. Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc. Responsible for Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools. Provide technical training to staff as necessary. Assist with application and user support when needed. Qualifications 5+ years of professional IT/IS experience, including 3-5 years of experience in MS SQL Server database administration in a SQL 2008 environment. Skills/Experience Required Experience in MS SQL Server database environments with a focus on maintaining, backing up, administration of critical data systems including performance tuning, stored procedures, triggers, and SSIS packages. In-depth knowledge of MS SQL server from both the application and the server standpoints in a Microsoft development environment. Strong knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, and patching. Also knowledgeable as to how statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively. Knowledge of SQL Server tools ( Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SAC, SSCM, PerfMon, DMVs, system stored procs) Proficient in integration of SQL Server, relational databases, SQL, and database management. Strong knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Replication. Ability to work independently and in a team environment along with strong customer service skills and the ability to interface with all levels of users. Data Base tuning, security, management, administration, RDBMS skills. Knowledge of ERP system (Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains) preferred. Exposure to other applications and development languages such as MS Access, XML, ASP, C#, .Net, JavaScript, VB Script, and HTML is a plus. MCITP highly desirable.
