Title:SAS Analytics Developer Location: Bridgeport,CT Duration: 6 Months Our client has an immediate opening for a SAS contractor with strong BASE SAS and SAS MACRO experience. The candidate needs to have advanced SQL experience using the following database vendors - Sybase IQ, MS SQL or Oracle. They should be highly experienced in Data Mining as well. Knowledge of SAS STAT for creating predictive models geared to the banking industry is a plus. I have attached the job spec. The candidate will be working on various ETL development projects; creating Excel Spreadsheet Reports; and potentially building some predictive models. SAS Analytics Developer Qualifications 5+ years experience in SAS Analytics Pro version 9.1.3 thru 9.3 (Windows 2008) Candidate must be able to follow program specifications to write, test, debug, document, and implement complex SAS programs to extract data from a variety of data sources, transform the data, and load the data to specified destinations. Ability to create SAS Data Sets from raw data extracted from various data sources and file formats, for example simple ASCII flat files; EBCDIC flat files; flat files with multiple layouts, (Header, Detail, and Trailer records); XML; Excel spreadsheets; RDBMS tables; and SAS data sets. Strong Experience with the Base SAS including Data Step; PROC Report; SAS ODS; Proc Tabulate; Proc Summary; SAS Sort; SAS arrays; PROC Transpose and Merge. Experience with SAS STAT software including the creation of variance and predictive models; Analysis of Variance; Regression Analysis; and Multivariate Analysis. Experience with SAS Graph software including the creation of data in charts, graphs, and maps as well as drill down. Experience with SAS ETS Software econometric and time series techniques for modeling, forecasting, simulating business processes; modeling risk factors to predict economic outcomes for various scenarios; and using time stamp data to predict trends. SAS MACRO 3+ years developing SAS Macros Ability to write flexible and reusable code using SAS Macros. Experience in Assigning Values to SAS MACRO variables and evaluating SAS MACRO variables. Familiar with the differences between Data and Marco Variables. Complete understanding of Automatic, Global, and Local MACRO variables scope. Ability to use positional parameters and to assign default values to the parameters to MACROS. PROC SQL 3+ years experience in using PROC SQL Ability to Connect using SAS interface to ODBC Strong Experience with Queries; Inner and Outer Joins; Merging; updating large data sets; and removing duplicates. Ability to create tables and views Understanding of Indexes. Expert Query Performance Tuning skills SQL Knowledge and Strong Experience with the following databases MS SQL Server; Oracle; and Sybase IQ Ability to perform Complex Selects, Updates, Inserts, Deletes on database tables. Knowledge of Oracle SQL Loader and MS SQL Server BCP is preferred. Proficient in implementing Data Warehousing Solutions. Must have working knowledge of Erwin or similar data modeling software. Ability to interact with End Users and Business Analysis Experienced with all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC Industry Knowledge / Applications 5 years or more experience with Base SAS 3 years or more experience with SAS Macros and Proc SQL 1 or more years working on SAS analytics projects is a plus. 1 years or more working on core banking applications data is a plus MS Windows 7 or higher. Knowledge of FTP and WS-FTP. Expert in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook and Visio. Expert in Toad, AQT or other SQL query tools.
