DESCRIPTION -IT Manager - Quality Assurance
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
General Responsibilities:
(10%)
â?¢ Working with project leaders during the project planning phases to assure that planned QA activities include the System/Integration Test (verification) and UAT (validation) phases of the project life cycle.
â?¢ Monitoring the testing efforts to assure that planned test schedules are kept and that test reports are maintained to reflect an accurate progression of the testing activities.
â?¢ Consulting with the project team to ensure that quality control testing follows approved test procedures and is conducted using appropriate test tools.
â?¢ Identifying software anomalies and tracking them to resolution.
Planning & Analysis: (10%)
â?¢ Guiding the project team to assure that quality procedures are planned into the project execution phases.
â?¢ Reviewing the project plan to verify that adequate time and resources are allocated to perform QA and QC processes.
â?¢ Working with IT project teams and business users to assess and understand business requirements.
â?¢ Assessing the testing needed to validate business requirements.
â?¢ Writing and maintaining the requirements traceability to test cases to ensure adequate coverage.
â?¢ Interfacing with IT Security to ensure that QA planning includes security testing.
â?¢ Facilitating the preparation of testing strategies, test plans, and test cases.
â?¢ Developing clear and concise test cases and expected result descriptions.
â?¢ Assessing whether or not third-partiesâ?? QC results meets expected QA standards.
Testing & User Acceptance: (80%)
â?¢ Partnering with Development, Systems, Business and Customer support associates to ensure that the project deliverables meet functional and operational needs of the business.
â?¢ Participating in Software Configuration Management (e.g., configuration baselines, configuration change requests, and change control records) for test environments.
â?¢ Facilitating testing with IT project teams.
â?¢ Performing test cases as required.
â?¢ Evaluating test results (e.g., requirements traceability matrix, test reports).
â?¢ Managing defects discovered during testing activities and validating the fixes.
â?¢ Conducting QA process and product assessments using objective criteria.
â?¢ Coordinating and communicating defects discovered during testing to the project team.
â?¢ Identifying and documenting noncompliance, observations, and risks from all software QA-related activities.
â?¢ Escalating noncompliance to IT management.
â?¢ Identifying lessons learned that will improve processes for future projects.
â?¢ Training IT associates to apply QA and QC principles to daily tasks.
