ACCOUNTABILITIES: Database Administration: Lead or assist with activities supporting the development, administration, and maintenance of the SQL Server environment. Lead or provide support for the design, development, documentation, and implementation of database administration activities; periodically review for effectiveness and identify, recommend, and implement changes. Perform lifecycle management of the data warehouse and other SQL databases including, but not limited to, capacity planning, backup and recovery procedures, and, in collaboration with others, performing systems design and monitoring and alerting activities. Provide leadership and/or participate in activities ensuring the integrity and security of the organization\'s applicable data assets. 45% - Database and Systems Support: Provide in-depth database support by identifying database problems. Recommends solutions and implements as needed. Monitor, investigate, and report database performance issues. Evaluate, recommend and remediate identified performance issues. Provide support for and ensures systems performance for database-related business intelligence processes and ETL (extract, transform, load) activities. 20% - Planning: Assist with developing documentation and procedures for maintaining information related to database systems supporting the data warehouse including data retention, archival schedule, etc. Perform significant planning and performs duties related to activities supporting the company\'s BCP/DR (business continuation plan/data recovery) strategy. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, business, or related field or equivalent experience. Extensive experience (minimum of 8 years) in database administration including: Five to eight years database administration experience in a business enterprise environment Three to five years data warehousing experience in a business enterprise environment Advanced understanding of database design, development, integration, and support activities Advanced knowledge of Microsoft SQL server and related transactional tools. Experience utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, and calendar/e-mail applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook preferred). Excellent performance in present and past positions.
