Role: Senior Data & ETL Developer Location: New York,NY Job Description This position is for Data & ETL senior developer within the FACT-FMT. The Data & ETL senior developer will contribute to all aspects of application development including design, development and support for the data and ETL needs for the Insights as well as non-Insights applications. This also includes the need to provide adhoc query support to the Business. The Data & ETL senior developer will be responsible for the data and sourcing across various data stacks, including TeraData, HDFS and SQL Server. Responsibilities Work in a globally distributed team that will deliver Business driven projects and IT solutions for Data & ETL requirements for Insights and non-Insights spaces. Understand the requirements, design and implement data sourcing solutions by doing data modeling and implementing ETL using technologies like TeraData, Informatica and TWS. Provide support to the different Insights and non-Insights dev teams for their data needs. Productionize the ETL changes by going through the review and approval processes by interfacing with different teams like engineering, operations and DBAs. Stay up to date on the evolving data architecture of the Insights applications. Provide support to the Business in adhoc query space. Interface with the business team and business analysts, support QA & UAT Testing, deployment, and Level 3 support for Data & ETL. Qualifications Required Skills: A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT, 5 years in Retail Brokerage IT. Excellent knowledge of and experience with data warehousing/data marts concepts and practices viz. TeraData and Informatica is a must. Demonstrated expertise with the some of the following tools/languages/disciplines: data modeling, data profiling, relational database SQL (e.g. SQL Server, Sybase). Experience in BigData technologies like Hadoop, HBase, Hive, HDFS. Knowledge of retail broker dealer business; back-office operations and trade processing; familiarity with a wide range of financial instruments; such as stocks, options, mutual funds, fixed income. Prior experience in data quality and data stewardship functions is a plus. Bachelors/Masters Degree in Engineering, preferably Computer Science/Engineering, from a top tier University Background in Financial Services required.
