Role:VP, Data Science
Location:Louisville, KY
Responsibilities:
  • The Business Analysis group focuses on both short and long term forecasting of financial performance and operating metrics which includes longer term strategic planning, capital budgeting, benchmarking and market analysis.
  • The Vice President, Data Science leads the Analytics group within Business Analysis and is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining analytical models that mine large sets of data looking for unique insights and correlations to support management in business decisions.
  • The position manages a team and is responsible for the overall quality and accuracy of resulting models, as well as communicating big data analytics concepts and their use to executive management.
  • Develop revenue optimization modeling, including development of pricing algorithms incorporating historical internal and external data.
  • Analyze local market economic trends for correlations with key performance metrics.
  • Partner closely with functional leaders and Information Technology to understand business issues, identify data sources and develop predictive models to communicate results.
  • Develop reusable, maintainable and effective predictive and behavioral models.
  • Actively seek and develop new methodologies, algorithms, tools and technologies to build new models.
  • Perform data mining on a vast amount of internal and external data attributes and translate them into actionable business decisions and recommendations.
  • Provide statistical leadership and formulate decision management plans that include project planning, data collection, data analysis and modeling, implementation and results tracking.
  • Responsible for the interviewing, hiring, training, developing, and evaluating of assigned staff in accordance with Company guidelines.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelors degree in quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics or related field from a four (4) year college or university.
  • Masters degree or higher preferred.
  • Extensive experience applying predictive modeling, data mining and statistical analysis to solve business problems.
  • Experience demonstrating teamwork and critical thinking skills to accomplish tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills and the ability to communicate complex and technical ideas to non-technical people, including the highest level of management.
  • In-depth knowledge of Excel, SQL, R, SAS, Python and machine learning algorithms.
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills.
  • Skilled in complex problem solving, critical thinking and decision making.
