Role: Software Engineer Location: Brookfield, WI Job description As a Software Engineer, you will be part of a small, dynamic team with exposure to a variety of projects. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Bachelorâ??s Degree in Computer Science or relevant Engineering degree preferred 3 years of experience in the development and maintenance of an enterprise-class, client/server commercial software product Responsible for the technical and business requirements discovery Provides support for proposal preparation for the nation-wide sales team Conducts technical presentations to customers regarding identified solutions Consults on the best solution design and engineering to meet customer needs Is capable of problem-solving and making decisions in high pressure situations Required Skills & Experience Excellent working knowledge C#, C, and C++ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Basic computer and server administration (Linux and Windows) A deep rooted drive to learn industry-specific knowledge Basic database skills (SQL, without a GUI) Experience with data manipulation algorithms Familiarity with a variety of RDMS platforms, including MySQL, Oracle, and SQL Server Recent work with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, Open Shift) would be an advantage Knowledge of the shipping, logistics or supply chain would also be an advantage
