Job: Jr. SQL Server DBA Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15108 Duration: 6-12 month Our client, a leader in their industry is actively seeking a Junior SQL Database Administrator. This role will be responsible for installing and configuring SQL Server and participate in upgrades. Candidates should have a minimum of TWO (2) years of work related experience. Responsibilities: Implement best practices on Microsoft SQL Server Databases and Servers Interface and communicate with company-wide Business Units Install and configure SQL Server Document processes and procedures Implement/Support Replication Have knowledge of other High Availability options Participate in migrations Participate in upgrades Keep time entry up to date Advise on hardware and licensing questions Ensure appropriate maintenance is in place including backups, index maintenance, consistency checks and statistics Support SSIS, SSRS, SSAS solutions Create, deploy, and update SSRS reports. Work with Reporting Team. Participate in application upgrades and deployments Performance tuning Continue to learn new skills involved in being a SQL Server DBA as the technology evolves Keep up to date with new releases of Microsoft SQL Server and advise on aspects that pertain to them Qualifications: Minimum of TWO (2) years\' of work related Database Administration experience Maintenance on SQL Server SSRS knowledge would be a plus Basic understanding of P/SQL Basic understanding of Performance Tuning Experience with Backups and Restores
