DEVOPS LEAD MANAGER. LOC MENLO PARK, CA

Budget $: 100,000 - 200,000

Looking for a DevOps Lead/ Manager to become part of their talented team of engineers. You will be responsible for keeping our service up and running for over 25 million unique monthly users. Your role will be to support and improve a large, very scalable environment with the ability to automatically know when the network will face challenges. The candidate should have proficiency with building large scalable environments with tens of millions of users and not be afraid of getting their hands dirty. Candidate will work together with all of our development team to improve stability and reliability of our products.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the DevOps team.
  • Architect monitoring infrastructure for scale, simplicity, resilience and agility.
  • Develop solid relationships with support, QA, and development teams to improve system stability and availability.
  • On-call rotation to support operational issues.
  • Evaluate and improve the continuous delivery framework for on-demand self-service of environment provisioning, including data center infrastructure, application build, deployment and configuration that result in self-service, push-button, reliable & repeatable deployments.
  • Review / automate analytics data for changes in server behavior and user retention.

    Minimum Job Qualifications 
  • Experienced in leading an Ops team in a large environment.
  • Several years running highly available production web applications and services on Linux servers.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux inside and out (RedHat/CentOS preferred).
  • Experience with configuration management systems and concepts (SaltStack preferred).
  • Experience building and scaling monitoring solutions (Zabbix, Nagios, Shinken etc.)
  • Knowledge of one or more CI frameworks (Jenkins, Buildbot, Bamboo etc.)
  • Familiarity with RPM packaging process.
  • Strong problem solving, documentation skills, team player.
  • Strong knowledge of bash and scripting languages like Python.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
  • Track record of leading others & positive change in project delivery and process improvement.
  • 4 years supervisory experience.
  • S in Computer Science or similar

    Preferred job qualifications:
  • Data center management experience.
  • Comfortable working and negotiating with vendors.
  • Experience with SCRUM process (Agile, XP).
  • Practical experience with intrusion detection/prevention: Snort, etc.
  • Flzuent in Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Stash)
