Employee Benefits Core Account Manager loc : San Luis Obispo, CA

Budget $: 100,000 - 200,000

The CORE Account Managers focus is to support the CORE Business Unit and develop, manage and expand relationships with clients through day to day administration of employee benefits program and assist in the client renewal process.

Essential Functions

  • Day to day management of client services and administration of employee benefit plans including but not limited to: billing issue resolution, service requests, new case implementation and coverage discrepancies
  • Continuously builds relationships/partnerships with clients by listening attentively, solving problems creatively, and using tact and diplomacy to find common ground and achieve win-win outcomes.
  • Works closely with the Account Executive on client services, marketing, and the benefit renewal process
  • Request for Proposal (RFP) preparation and management, including working closely with carriers and our General Agent partners
  • Preparation of renewal/new business proposals and other materials for presentation to client
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state laws as required
  • Interface with carriers on changes to policies and contracts
  • Document client interactions, maintain electronic files, and database maintenance
  • Collaborate with Employee Benefits team to develop and maintain communication, education and workflows
  • Prepare reports for Account Executive as needed
  • Attend ongoing education, carrier product and administration training
  • Protects confidential information based on HIPAA and other regulatory privacy laws

Qualifications

  • High school degree, current life and accident and Health Licenses, or required within one year of becoming an Account Manager.
  • A working knowledge of the Independent Insurance Agency System and Life & Health Operations is desired.
  • Proficient in software applications commonly used in an office environment as well as ability to learn new applications.
  • Requires reliable transportation to participate in offsite client meetings.
  • Strong Excel knowledge is preferred.
