Position Summary
  • This position is an integral component of the Human Resources team and reportsdirectly to the Chief Total Rewards Officer.
  • The Employee Benefits, Data Analytics and Financial Reporting Lead worksindependently and is responsible for accounting, compliance and benefitsdata administration in accordance with applicable federal and state governinglaws and master plan documents for each program.
  • Serves as a technical resource to retirees and insurance companies, whiledeveloping strong relationships with our plan participants and contractedvendors.
  • Under minimal supervision, the Lead will perform a variety of analytical,accounting, regulatory compliance and reporting functions includingauthority to interpret and approve retirement subsidies in accordance with theBoard of Governor\'s established requirements.
  • The Lead is also responsible for understanding and carrying-forwardadministrative requirements of PERA for eligible employeecontributions and retiree subsidies.
  • This position provides effective direction in a manner that ensuresoperational excellence and quality customer service.
  • The Lead will work with vendors to create file interface deliverables,analyze data, draw conclusions and create process improvements in theaccounting and employee benefits data facets of HR.
Required Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, mathematics, accounting, computerscience, information management, finance, statistics or any related degree.
  • At least 4 years of experience in a closely related position, preferably atan institution of higher education, benefits consulting firm or HR department.
  • Must be results-driven; focused on achieving results that promotehigh-quality employee benefit programs.
  • Must be a self-starter; ability to work independently, but alsocooperatively and enthusiastically in a close team environment.
  • Must be resilient; possess determination with the ability to demonstratediscipline in execution of work.
  • Must have broad HR knowledge; must know processes, systems and bestpractices for benefits.
  • Must be able to create and prepare accounting and other data prep work inSQL, Microsoft Access and Excel.
  • Must be a problem solver; able to identify and solve challenging problems.
