Job Title: DataStage Developer
Location: Birmingham, Alabama
Duration: 6 -12 months Contract
!! Note Must have Experience with IBM InfoSphere and DB2 and COBOL !!
Required background:
Bachelor degree and 3 years of programming experience, or 3 years of programming experience and 3 years of relevant business experience
Knowledge of and experience with programming languages, platforms, and data structures
Minimum 3 years of experience utilizing DB2
Experience analyzing customer needs, designing new systems and modifying existing systems
Experience in a position interpreting and communicating information orally and written
Experience in a position requiring the ability to identify and solve problems
Experience in a position requiring the ability to organize and prioritize tasks
Experience in a position interacting with all levels of staff internal and external
Programming experience utilizing SQL is preferred
Experience in a position using COBOL and JCL on an IBM MVS mainframe is preferred
Experience in a position utilizing IBM InfoSphere is preferred
Healthcare experience is preferred
Claims Data experience would be a plus
Technical Skills
. IBM InfoSphere experience (3 years wanted) – especially with newer versions, and with tools within InfoSphere like DataStage and InfoAnalyzer.
. DB2 (3 years wanted) – could substitute other database experience, if InfoSphere experience is heavy, or if they have experience with helping set up an information management/business intelligence/data warehousing area.
. COBOL (2 years wanted) – could substitute other mainframe programming language if they have the top 2 technical skills listed.
