Developer (IR Sybase to SQL)

"IR Sybase to SQL Server" migration project



Job Responsibilities

Participate in all aspects of the project for the Data Warehouse migration from Sybase to SQL Server. The project will include but is not limited to the data migration, the existing code re-write, and testing. The environment is in both Unix and Windows.
Develop solutions that can leverage existing development/tools as well as create solutions that act as building blocks for future development.
Write clear, concise technical documentation to accompany all application development.
Use trouble shooting skills to analyze and resolve issues with legacy software.


job requirements

Required Qualifications

7+ years of overall IT experience in roles demonstrating design, development, implementation, and application support expertise.
4+ years of experience in object oriented development using C#.
4+ years of experience using Microsoft SQL Server.
Strong hands-on experience using Sybase relational database.
Strong hands-on experience with Solaris Batch scripting and Perl.
Demonstrated experience in all aspects of the software development lifecycle.
Strong interpersonal communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills.
Strong independent work ethic.
Excellent documentation skills to ensure repeatable standards, best practices and consistent approaches for support teams.



Preferred Qualifications

BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
2+ years of experience in object oriented development using Java.
Skilled in source code control, builds and deployments.
Understanding of Investment business, processes, and terminology.
