Budget $: 100,000 - 200,000

Under general supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Psychiatrist is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing and treating patient with mental, emotional and behavioral disorders. The Psychiatrist will conduct thorough evaluations, develop treatment plans, prescribe medication and evaluate treatment results.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

1) Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, including interviews, medical histories, physical exams, observations, and psychological testing

2) Analyzes data and results of assessments to diagnose patients

3) Thoroughly document patient’s diagnosis, symptoms, medical and treatment effectiveness

4) Develops comprehensive treatment plans, measure progress against the plan and make adjustments as needed

5) Prescribes and administers medications according to diagnosis

6) Monitors patient to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications

7) Consults with other medical professionals and psychologists

8) Provides patients with emotional support and strategies to help manage their disorder

9) Supervises and directs family nurse practitioners, physician assistants and other mid-level providers

10) Other physician duties as assigned by supervisor

PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

1) Must hold MD degree from an accredited medical school and completion of an approved Psychiatric residency

2) Must be Board certified or eligible in Psychiatry

3) Must have completed and approved internship

4) Must hold a valid California State Physician and Surgeon License

5) Current CPR certification6) Current DEA license

7) Must be sensitive to the corporation’s diverse patient population

8) Demonstrate clear knowledge of Health clinic structure, standards, procedures and protocols
