DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•Prepare reliable engineering circuit design (DLR) for installation, switch and service technicians to use to complete customer orders.

•Provide reliable engineering system design (DLR) for Construction, Installation, and Network Engineering technicians to use to activate new facilities for:

•New customer locations

•Augmentations at existing locations

•Provide Design Layout Record (DLRs) and Infrastructure Orders (IO’s) for carriers ordering facilities from Lightpath.

•Manage and maintain accurate databases related to customer and carrier facilities, network inventory, etc. as possible with OSSs.

•Update OSS databases related to Network Engineering facility information as required by changes in the network

•Responsible for providing budget codes required to justify cost for equipment deployment and service implementation.

•Generate material equipment request forms for customer, internal and service related orders to verify proper equipment deployment for service delivery in all regions.

•Work with engineering department to order and establish required cross connects and fiber tie pairs to complete customer’s end-to-end network connectivity.

•Evaluate and determine the power requirements for equipment utilization for new and existing customers

•Responsible for creating building CLLI codes to be utilized by all telecom companies via proprietary Telcordia/CLONES web-based systems.

•Set Service Delivery Project Managers expectations for order fulfillment activities related to circuit design functions.  

•Analyze capacity within the network for new service orders and determine the proper equipment required to satisfy customers request and future growth while working with Capacity Management to facilitate order fulfillment.

•Participate in special projects and associated duties as assigned.

•Assist in training circuit designers with daily job requirements

•Provide support to all Field operations personnel to ensure accurate designs for service installations.

•Responsible for quality assurance of all customer, internal and service related orders required for installation. 

•Determine and initiate scope of work and methods of procedure for required maintenance window due to service affecting issues.

•Required to troubleshoot and resolve moderate to complex circuit and/or database problems to ensure minimal delay in service delivery.

•Participate in the development of standards for designs operations. 

•Communicate with other departments in reporting and resolving operational software and hardware issues pertaining to OSS. Maintain accurate network documentation, drawings, and circuit diagrams.

•Work in partnership with Network Planning & Engineering, to clarify and analyze Network Design Projects/Plans for implementation into the OSS and Lightpath network.
