-Must have extensive experience with interfaces and aspects of interface


-Mut have 3-5 years Java experience


Your opportunity with Scantron - Provide analytical, technical and administrative knowledge in the life cycle of information technology solutions and systems software. Serve as a technical or system expert for projects during requirement and design phases. Research, design, and implement systems according to user specifications. Write new programs and modify existing ones. Provide input on technical projects and serve as technical mentor to team members. This position works within a highly interactive team environment and works closely with both functional and technical staff to lead and implement solutions to business requirements.


 


To be successful in this role one must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced environment. This role requires professional verbal and written communication skills with team members, end users and business contacts.


 


Key Duties / Responsibilities




  • Interface with internal business customers, assess customer requirements, evaluate alternatives, develop creative solutions, gather and document requirements in a macro design document. Create detailed program specifications in a micro document. Develop unit test cases. Develop documentation for new and existing code.



  • Provide input for cost/benefit analysis of proposals, estimation of budgets, and time lines and resources required for successful and timely completion of projects.



  • Participate in the preparation of detailed work plans for business process improvement efforts and related technology solutions.



  • Follow the software development methodology to ensure quality implementation.



  • Follow and manage the change control processes to ensure integrity of the production environment.



  • Compile weekly status updates for the technical team outlining progress, issues and accomplishments.



  • Provide on-call support as required. Monitor and resolve production support requirements. Provide follow up and status.



  • All employees are responsible for supporting and complying with internal and external audits, to include providing information, performing assigned tasks to ensure compliance, and preparing and maintaining evidence that key duties identified as internal controls have been performed.



  • Other responsibilities include:



    • Data changes/conversion using PL/SQL procedures and shell scripts



    • Schema changes (new tables, columns, indexes, etc.)



    • Export/Import data



    • Prepare TEST environment (export/import) with PROD data for testing scenarios



    • Participate in meetings for schema design/changes



    • Write FSG and Discoverer reports and provide training to end users as needed



    • Maintain/develop customizations using PL/SQL, Discoverer, Workflow and AME



    • Maintain and document interfaces/customizations



    • Troubleshoot technical issues and work with Oracle Support to open & resolve SR's



    • Develop, implement and maintain unit tests of programs



    • Participate in functional test planning and testing for the assigned application(s), functional area(s) or project(s)



    • Work with the team to ensure the quality of the assigned application(s), functional area(s) or project(s)





 


Qualifications

 

Education & Knowledge Required


Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems. Masters degree is highly desirable.


 


Experience / Skills / Abilities Required




  • 5 -7 years experience in Oracle Database technologies



  • 5 -7 years of experience working in an Oracle Applications environment



  • 5 -7 years of Java/PL SQL development experience



  • Experience with R12



  • Experience with Oracle Forms



  • Experience with Oracle Application Framework (OAF) a plus.



  • Strong experience with operating systems including Linux, AIX & Windows



  • Strong experience with Oracle 10g database



  • Strong experience with PL/SQL triggers and/or procedures



  • Experience with Data Warehouse architecture and technologies a plus



  • Ability to work with minimal direction, yet also able to work in team environment



  • Working knowledge of UNIX and shell scripts



  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, troubleshooting, and decision making skills.



  • Strong customer service and teamwork skills.



  • Able to work with different teams, bringing teams together to form solutions, facilitating meetings, and discussions.



  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and work effectively in a team environment with a diverse group of resources from both the technical and business staff.



  • Knowledge of the following operating systems : Linux, AIX, Windows
