Role:Optical Test Engineer

Location:Sunnyvale, CA

Responsibilities :

Execute testing and characterization of a variaty of optical transceivers and sub-systems, both on the optical and electrical side. Create and execute test plans.Build test stations using optical and electrical test equipment; create test automation software to execure tests and store results.

Perform gauge repeatability and reproducibility as needed to assess validity of tests stations and test processes.

Conduct inter departemental test plan and test report reviews.Interact with Procurement Specifications (P-Spec) writers, hardware and software engineers to help define best approach to take for testing of optical devices.

Support failure analysis, both at the transceiver level and at the system interaction level.

Be the liaison between hardware and software teams and the optical devices suppliers in order to expedite failure analysis and resolution.

Minimum Qualifications :

Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Physics. 1-3 years of experience.

Industry standards of line and client side optics (e.g. IEEE 802.3, OIF, SFF, etc.)High speed optical modulation formats generation and detectionOptical and electrical signal testing with pulse pattern generator, bit error rate tester, optical spectrum analyzer, arbitrary waveform analyzer and digital oscilloscopeOperation of optical link components including modulator, amplifier, filter and laser driverOther InformationRelocation is not available for this positionNo travel are expected company is enrolled in E-Verify? and will be participating in E-Verify in addition to our Form I-9 process.
