Role: Back-End Web Developer and Development Operations Specialist.
Location: Montreal.

You will be working with a dynamic team to create interactive websites and email campaigns, support the development team and ensure production and staging environments run smoothly. The position reports to the Lead Web Developer.

Responsibilities:

• Creating regular backups on web servers and restoring when needed
• Continuously monitoring the security and log files of various websites and applying security patches
• Purchasing and maintaining space on webservers, monitoring website usage and size, upgrading webservers as needed
• Setting up, moving and configuring servers with databases
• Managing webserver access and file permissions
• Installing ssh keys for shell and sftp
• Managing DNS for various domains
• Setting up SSL certificates
• Debugging server related issues
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Experience writing and up keeping documentation
• Ensuring the quality of your work and that of your team
• Identifying and correcting bottlenecks and fix bugs
• Investigating anomalies in our websites
• Helping the Front-End Developer to solve problems
• Using the latest technologies to write readable and re-useable code.
  

Skills:

• Proficient with JavaScript, jQuery, JSON (HTML, CSS knowledge is considered an asset)
• Proficient with PHP & MySQL
• Knowledge of REST ful APIs
• Experience with PHP frameworks (Laravel, CakePHP)
• Experience with Word press Proficient with GIT versioning
• Strong grasp of automation tools
• Help maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Proven experience with relational databases and document-based databases
• Proven experience managing at least one Linux distribution (preferably Debian, Ubuntu, or alike), understands how to install, configure and manage a LAMP stack
