PAYROLL SPECIALIST

Description:
Responsible for performing a variety of payroll functions including setting up new employees in the payroll system, entering timecard data, printing payroll reports and pay stubs, entering ACH information, and processing garnishments and wage attachments.
Resolves employee questions and ensures that payroll functions are completed in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.
Keeps management well informed of activities and significant problems.

Required Skills and Experience:

• High school graduate or equivalentAdditional related training preferred in payroll processing
• Two plus years of related experience preparing payrollsMulti-state payroll experience a plusUltipro and Cognos experience a plusWeekly payroll processing of over 1000 employees experience preferredExcel skills (V Look up required)
• Accurate and attentive to detailWell-organizedStrong interpersonal skills and able to work well with othersStable job history - some of our employees have been with us over 33 years!
• ResponsibilitiesSetting up new employees in the payroll systemProcessing garnishments and wage attachmentsGenerate paychecks and ensure timely distribution to all employees
• Process all tax forms in a timely and accurate mannerRecord PTO request for time off in timekeeping system
• Ensure accurate record retention to comply with governmental and auditing requirements
• Prepare reports and/or analysis on payroll related data, to include ad hoc Ultipro system reportsAssist with data entry and batch reconciliationProcess I9 forms thru E-Verify in a timely manner
