Job description Position Summary Provides deep expertise in all aspects of Apaches SOLR search engine. Initial responsibility are around designing an improved Search capability for our future eCommerce site. As Search Engineer your duties will include, but are not limited to designing, building and maintaining Solr environments; focusing on user experience, search effectiveness, cross-sell/upsell capabilities, user personalization, of search results. You will design and build the Search Framework including building the Service Layer. This includes setup, tuning in a DevOps environment. 70% code related work and 30% administration. Work as part of a larger eCommerce team to build and support the system. Target skills are : Solr / Lucene / ElasticSearch with a Java Development background. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 3+ years of experience in working with and Managing Search Technologies Apache Solr / Lucene 3+ years of Search architecture experience using Solr, capacity planning and cluster maintenance Strong in Java/J2EE Excellent Core Java, Spring, REST Web Services, JSON APIs, XML APIs skills with at least 3-5 years of experience Experience with Solr deployments, Spring, Restful Web services Elastic search experience is a plus High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associateâ??s Degree or higher preferred in any computer related field. Uses independent discretion and judgment. Creative and customer focused. Cooperative, good team player
