POSITION SUMMARY:  The Senior DatabaseAdministrator is responsible for setup, support & management of SQL ServerDatabases in production, test & development environments. The candidatewill be responsible for creation and administration of SQL Server 2012, 2014,and 2016 databases in standalone, mirrored, clustered and AlwaysOnenvironments. He/she must have substantial hands-on technical experience inaddition to strong conceptual knowledge about SQL Server database andunderlying architecture and fundamentals. Duties and responsibilities arefocused on database management and administration, including infrastructurestrategy, design, deployment, monitoring and maintenance of database systems.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

â?¢            Install SQL Server 2012, 2014, and 2016 databases

â?¢            Support SQL Server 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, and 2016 databases

â?¢            Build and support database replication using mirroring, clustering, log shipping, and AlwaysOn

â?¢            Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures usingSQL Server maintenance plans

â?¢            Adhere and improve â??best practicesâ? documentation

â?¢            Perform health checks and proactive monitoring using Solarwinds

â?¢            Establishes and enforces all database standards and integrity

â?¢            Be on site during normal working hours and to provide occasional after hours24x7 support. Remote access options are available to accommodate after hourssupport.

â?¢            Implement and maintain database security (create and maintain users and roles,assign privileges).

â?¢            Effectively demonstrate on performance analysis, tuning & improvements ofSQL Server database based application systems

Experience required -  10+ years SQL Serveradministration supporting a production environment; SQL Server ReportingServices; SQL Server Integration Services; Troubleshooting SQL Server databaseissues; Experience in code migration, database change management and datamanagement through the various stages of the development life cycle; ; Abilityto write complex T-SQL scripts; Transparent Database Encryption implementation;Demonstrated experience in development of long-term database strategies for theenterprise environment to stay current with technology and provide the requiredfunctionality to the organization and as well as adherence to Change Controlprocedures and policies; Technically enthusiastic and willing to learn attitudeis required; Familiarity with large IT budgeted projects, data center migrationefforts, and designing disaster recovery procedures.

Nice to have â?? Experience with SQL Server AnalysisServices

Preferred location is Rancho Cordova as currently DBAteam does not have coverage for SQL Server work in this location/time zone, andit allows for overlap with ODC morning shift.
