Financial Analyst - Corporate FP&A Location:Jacksonville, FL

Job Description

  • The Financial Analyst - Corporate FP&A will be responsible for timely and accurate forecasting and modeling, preparing reporting packages and performing complex analysis of financial activities.
  • This position will be responsible for completion of projects and working under high levels of responsibility and autonomy as well as coaching and mentoring more junior Financial Analysts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Support annual business plan/budget for given business segment
  • Lead re-forecasting activities, as necessary
  • Update/evolve forecasting models, as necessary
  • Analyze monthly results - identify drivers and explain key variances
  • Prepare monthly reporting package
  • Coordinate all activities with business planning processes & schedule
  • Calculate product ROE's
  • Extract and disseminate key plan metrics to business unit management
  • Lead creation of new monthly reporting package utilizing modular approach that will meet the needs of Executive Management and governance activities
  • Lead modeling activities on acquisition opportunities, as required
  • Complete special project and ad hoc reporting as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • May require extensive knowledge of the concepts, practices and procedures of the Business Unit being supported
  • Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned area with little supervision or oversight
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Strong skills in planning and forecasting

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance or related business area
  • MBA/CPA preferred
  • 6 - 8 years related work experience
  • Banking and/or mortgage industry experience preferred
  • Cognos TM1 experience preferred
