POSITION: Ember Front-End Developer (must have Ember experience)

LOCATION: Bloomington, IL (great cost of living; 2 hours from Chicago and 3 hours from St. Louis)

DURATION: 1 year renewable contract

INTERVIEW: Hire off Phone Screen

DESCRIPTION:

Top Three Skills: 

1. 1.5+ UI development with Ember

2. 5+ years with Java/j2ee

3. Experience integrating products used for ADA compliance 

Job Description:  

This work will be aligned to the Workbench application. The person assigned to this work will provide guidance and best practice expertise related to Ember development with complex data models. Will also assist with the development of UI screens. Must understand how Ember integrates with accessibility products used for ADA compliance (for example screen readers.)

As part of an advanced UI development team, this position will be responsible for developing OO based software applications to support integrated contact center applications.

 

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with Contact Center Environments
  • Understanding of Cisco/Unified Communications
  • Very Strong UX Experience
  • Working experience of Single Page Applications
  • Ability to learn and adapt to a changing environment
  • Desire to work in the leading-edge of technology at State Farm

Required Technical Skills

  • Ember development 

 

Business Challenge:   The product that SF uses as the point of entry for all calls originating from the contact centers is out of date. SF is developing a new application for this that will have an improved UI that will lead to a better experience for their users. 

 

Why would someone want this job:  Opportunity to work on application that will improve the user experience for approximately 30,000 SF contact center employees. Will be working with cutting edge java technologies (Ember.) This will provide IT experience, in a fortune 50 client, using agile methodologies. 

 

Non-Technical Skills:   This resource must have leadership skills and the ability to take on a task and drive it to completion. They must also have great communication skills to work with a wide range of resources and audiences. They must also be thorough in providing updates and managing action. They should also be self starters willing to jump in, and find the answers or information they need to succeed. Troubleshooting skills are key.
