Job Description
  • The Network Specialist role is responsible for monitoring and maintaining enterprise network systems.
  • The Network Specialist will collaborate with team members and will serve as a technical specialist supporting system administration for technology solutions such as Active Directory, e-mail, virtualization, storage, security and the server environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate and work as part of a team whose goal is to architect, automate, and manage corporate server infrastructure within established protocols.
  • Administer and maintain enterprise storage environments including but not limited to SANs, Windows File Server Services, LUNs, Volumes,
  • Disks and CIFS share managementIdentify current and potential issues while monitoring enterprise networks to ensure communication efficiency and resource availability.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate threats using enterprise SPAM filter, UTM systems, ACLs, Firewalls, port security technologies, AV systems etc.Support enterprise applications ensuring systems are monitored and highly available.
  • Supporting Software teams in debugging and improving these systems.Maintaining the efficiencies, robust security, and availability standards known to both the corporate and plant controls networks.
  • Manage and maintain enterprise mobility solutions (MDM, wireless solutions)Maintain remote access systems and services (Citrix, SSLVPN, RDP, etc.)
  • Support enterprise Unified Communications Systems (hardware and software)Collaborate with team members and work to continuously improve the technology infrastructure while adhering to the change management process.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in relevant field preferred with a minimum of 3 years compute and storage experience in a highly-virtualized environment, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Professional certifications preferred (MCSE, MCSA, CCNP, CCNA)
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as Microsoft Hyper-VStrong knowledge of network technology and protocolsStrong knowledge of SAN/Storage technologies
  • Experience with Cisco Wireless and HP routing and switching technologies preferred
  • This individual should be self-motivated and capable of working both independently as well as part of a team.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferredProject management skills preferredMust be able to multi taskAbility to work within an established change management process
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills requiredWork Environment
  • This position works in a combination of office and manufacturing environments to execute position responsibilities.
  • Must be able to sit, stand, bend, stretch, walk, climb stairs, lift up to 35lbs, reach overhead, see in color and wear appropriate
  • Personal Protective Equipment within the Plant environment which includes wet floors, machine noise, hot conditions, etc.
