Payroll Manager Loc: Dallas,TX

Budget $: 100,000 - 200,000

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the performance of Payroll team.
  • Develops and administers continuous training of all payroll team members regarding payroll policies and procedures.
  • Tracks and monitors work results of payroll team, including providing timely direction and performance feedback, including the preparation of annual performance appraisals.
  • Manages and audits payroll processes to ensure accurate and timely updates of pay rates, tax rates, and deductions utilized in pay runs.
  • Verifies compliance with all governmental reporting requirements for payroll taxes in multiple states, ensuring accurate and complete employee withholdings, employer contributions and payroll garnishments.
  • Complete, timely and accurate provision of all general ledger journal entries to Accounting, assuring that any payroll-related general ledger account reconciling differences are resolved within 30 days.
  • Verify, update and maintain documentation of all payroll policies and procedures, assuring accessibility, understanding, and compliance by all payroll team members.
  • Other responsibilities and projects as assigned

Education/Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Accounting
  • Prior retail or multi-unit industry experience preferred
  • Experience with automated payroll processing and tax filing applications and software
  • Clear and concise writing and speaking skills
  • Results-oriented, follows through, makes well-informed decisions, problem solves and consistently meets deadlines
  • Customer service oriented
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and multiple demands
