Job Description

The IT Director

  • Retail/Supply Chain will assist in the expansion, training, and integration of project management methodologies, including providing training and support to Project Managers to develop, update, and analyze project schedules, identify cross-project dependencies, risks, and management of project financials.
  • The candidate will be responsible for evaluating project health by analyzing project schedules, dependencies, risks, and financial data;
  • Providing quality assurance checks to ensure adherence to organizational standards; assisting in the development of group-wide business rules, policies, and procedures as part of the governance process;
  • Providing subject matter expertise on the project management framework; developing, analyzing and reporting programmatic and performance metrics.

As an IT Director, some of your responsibilities will entail:

  • Maintain final accountability for directing, planning and managing teams engaged in the design, development, delivery and/or support of business solutions and information systems for assigned areas.
  • Plan, coordinate and allocate resources across the organization to accomplish objectives and ensure alignment with overall business priorities.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal customers.
  • Provide input into the overall departmental annual budget (both expense and capital) for business solutions delivery services supporting areas of responsibility; ensure expenditures remain within budget.
  • Streamline and optimize established IT processes and recommend improvements of business processes to business functional process owners.
  • Ensure business solutions delivery and support activities conform to company and departmental policies and standards and support the IT architecture plan.
  • Develop innovative solutions to problems and challenge fundamental assumptions regarding current processes to support business improvement.
  • Maintain staff performance results by training, coaching, counseling and disciplining team members as well as planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
  • Establish challenging performance standards; motivate team members and create enthusiasm, as well as a feeling of investment and desire to excel.
  • Coordinate business solutions delivery activities with internal business partners, other IT groups and outside organizations (e.g., vendors, consultants, suppliers).
  • Maintain technology and industry knowledge expertise to ensure appropriate technologies are applied to solutions; identify opportunities for new technology and business related applications.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the company\'s business operations, plans and strategies to ensure IT best supports the business plans and strategies.
