CFO/ Vice President, Finance Loc: Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada

Budget $: 100,000 - 200,000

Act a business partner to the Managing Director to guide and build value in the company

  • Have accountability of the organizationsâ?? financial integrity including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, ensuring proper controls and procedures are in place
  • Develop business cases and assess return on investment for existing and new corporate initiatives.
  • Working with the finance team, review existing financial processes
  • Create monthly interim financial reports and quarterly financial statements in accordance to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
  • Understand ??s products, services and processes in order to exercise due diligence on the teamâ??s financial management practices, including revenue forecasting, client billing, revenue recognition and receivables management
  • Understand??s client relationships at both the manufacturer and Dealer level
  • Learn, understand, and contribute to corporate culture and maintain that culture in all operations
  • Provide leadership, mentorship through coaching, motivating and education
  • Lead the finance team in the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, financial audits, and variance reporting to budget/forecasts
  • Oversees risk and Corporate insurance requirements.
  • Oversee global expansion and setup required structure to growth in forging countries.
  • Ensure costing of product is accurate, lead in driving efficiencies with product costing
  • Ensures compliance with all tax reporting requirements (at home and abroad) including income tax, franchise tax, sales tax, and employment taxes.
  • Coordinates with appropriate legal counsel relating to financial and corporate governance compliance (at home and abroad) and risk assessment matters.
  • Establish and present monthly reviews to the President and members of the Executive Team on the financial health of each operating entity as part of on-going business management
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, bankers, auditors, colleagues and employees
  • Provide coaching support to senior management team, corporate account managers, and regional managers in defining financial goals and KPIâ??s within their specific areas
  • Infrequent travel within North America and Europe as required

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • CA designation in good standing
  • 15+ years of progressively responsible leadership experience
  • 5+ years in a Vice President of Finance or Vice-President of Finance capacity, within a manufacturing domain
  • Experience as President, CEO or COO an asset
  • Experience in international business an asset
  • Strong understanding of technology and technological solutions and can excel in an IT solutions environment
  • Experience with tax legislation, transfer pricing rules particularly in Canada, US and Europe
  • Experience with implementing and migrating to new financial systems/packages
  • Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, with strong organizational abilities
  • Superior written, spoken, comprehension and presentation skills
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office and Quickbooks
  • General understanding of leading financial systems
