Job description

Position Summary

  • This position will be responsible for the knowledge and daily support of all payroll systems including Lawson and Kronos in order to provide system data integrity to the payroll departments.
  • This position will also support department reporting, metrics, testing and upgrades.
  • This position will serve as a back-up to the payroll team for payroll adjustments and payroll processing.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor??s degree in IT, or relevant discipline and 5+ year??s relevant experience or appropriate combination of education and experience.

Work Experience Requirements

  • Extensive experience with Lawson, Report Smith, Kronos and other payroll required systems.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and prioritize multiple projects and assignments
  • Ability to interact with all levels of associates within the organization
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and other accounting system reporting tools

License/Certifications

Position Duties

  • Actively participates with IT in testing test scripts for all upgrades / patches and changes within Lawson and Kronos systems.
  • Work collaboratively with HR and department leaders on set up of new pay codes, including design, set-up and test.
  • Work collaboratively with Accounting to ensure payroll posting is in line with expectations and to identify best practices and reconcile variances.
  • Identifies opportunities for automation and system optimization.
  • Lead role participation with all program upgrades and implementation of new programs
  • Kronos security access changes submitted by departments/facilities/IT
  • Responsible for reporting for PR along with various adhoc reporting requests within the department and for executive leadership
  • PR Lawson and Kronos set up (i.e. new process levels, new companies, etc.)
  • Responsible for working with ADP to submit the year end W2 employee files and working with the vendor and associates to ensure successful registrations as well as accurate W2 information.
  • Creation and ongoing maintenance of payroll websites through SharePoint
  • May perform periodic internal audits of various payroll areas and prepare materials for external or internal auditors.
  • Documents process flows and key department procedures.
  • Training and cross-training.
