Skills This position requires a range of existing skills and prior experience, including one or more specialization in each of the following categories Cisco networking certification or commensurate networking experience Experience with layer 2/3 networking, including ECMP , OSPF , BGP , etc Automation and Orchestration: e.g. Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Powershell, Vagrant, Ruby, and/or Python Virtualization: e.g. VMWare vSphere, KVM , and/or OpenStack Server Operating Systems: e.g. Windows Server 2012, Linux Deploying and supporting common open source software packages Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Candidates with significant experience in several of the following categories will be strongly preferred Active Directory / Windows Server 2012 R2 Exchange 2013 / 2016 Cumulus Linux, Pica8, or similar Linux ( RHEL , CentOS, Debian, etc) Public cloud administration and architecture, e.g. AWS , Azure, etc Software build, configuration and management tools, such as git, autoconf, and similar Metrics collection, centralized logging, and trending/alerting tools VMware VAAI , iSCSI, Software defined storage Hadoop / Spark Nexenta, Ceph, Swift or similar SDS Casper, SCCM , etc. Responsibilities Include Support & maintain ISI campus network & associated systems. Take the lead ensuring industry standard Site Reliability Engineering/DevOps tools & techniques are applied as appropriate for network management responsibilities. Maintain appropriate skills in Site Reliability Engineering/DevOps to ensure all ISI infrastructure is highly-available & hardened against failures & security breaches. Oversee, maintain and administer computer networks. Manage, support, and upgrade (software and hardware) the ISI infrastructure and facilities. Proactively identify and resolve system reliability and performance concerns. Provide analytical and technical expertise on system integration, installation, replacement and upgrades of servers and operating systems. Develop and maintain appropriate system documentation. Formulate standards for system management.
