- Develop and implement multi-point improvement initiatives to optimize material forecast and flow to improve high-mix, high-complexity, low-volume assembly performance.
- Need for creativity around the commonality of set-ups, minimum changeovers running work through work centers in the right sequence, and proactive bottleneck management and corrective actions.
- Lead the implementation of sound materials systems and practices including KPI management, PFEP, SIOP, supplier OTD and quality.
- Integrate systems and practices into new SAP launch to improve forecasting and reporting.
- Oversee all activities related to materials, planning, and delivery of parts in accordance with the master production schedule.
- Work closely with corporate sourcing group to implement strategic sourcing and VAVE initiatives to drive continuous improvement and reduce costs.
- Analyze market and OTD and communicate forecast/demand information to supplier base ensuring capacity is secured and reduce expedited part delivery.
- Support new product development materials and planning initiatives from prototype to full production.
- Two NPIs in 2016 and 0 planned for 2017.
- Compile Materials and Planning departmental budget, assist in financial forecasting, prepare reports, supplier performance metrics, and coordinate bidding/quoting activities.
