Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) Analyst Loc : Apex, NC

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct the day-to-day work requirements of EDI to support and implement business strategies for EDI that reduce costs and provide improved and easy-to-access information with our trading partners and which builds new customer, vendor and merchandising relationships.
  • Support the preparation and distribution of routine monthly reports regarding EDI activity and transaction volumes, and ensure that tools and check points are in place to provide confirmation of incoming and outgoing EDI transactions.
  • Apply skills in project management, process re-engineering and knowledge of electronic exchange of customer and supplier information, service order systems, and automated service and purchasing systems to effectively support increased volume of business transactions conducted through EDI and to respond to new requirements from our trading partners.
  • Complete senior level EDI mapping with contemporary translators such as GXS, Gentran and Harbinger.
  • GXS Application Integrator and Biz Manager are the current tools.
  • Participate in and support strategic planning involving EDI related initiatives; demonstrate key knowledge related to technological purchases and redesign of business functions or processes.
  • Develop core knowledge of the business; present relevant information to internal business contacts, external trading partners and through the web site. Employ creative entrepreneurial thinking to determine and deploy contemporary strategies to meet business goals through EDI tools and competencies.Support and coordinate EDI initiatives and respond effectively to problems of users, internal staff and trading partners to maintain excellent service and customer satisfaction.
  • Plan and coordinate the tasks for disaster recovery testing and support updates as needed for documentation.Actively participate in other projects and/or assignments and provide overtime support when needed.
Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in IT related field preferred; may consider prior 7+ years of directly relevant experience in lieu of degree.Demonstrated experience supporting EDI daily requirements in a fast-paced environment required.
  • Proficient knowledge of EDI function and design; demonstrated success in independently developing and executing strategic and cost-effective business initiatives.
  • EDI B2B system administrator experience on Unix/Windows platforms.
  • Proficient in all communication methods and standards, AS2, direct connection and use of Vans.
  • Experience with MQ series and other protocols. Experience in mapping with XML would be a plus.
  • Experience with SAP PI/PO strongly desired.Knowledge of contemporary methods of conducting business and sharing information through electronic means and through the web.
