Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Serves as liaison between clinicians and application vendors, actively participating in all software design, build, implementation, testing and maintenance.
  • Responsible for the analysis and supporting creation of workflows for clinical business processes (i.e. Front desk, billing, and reporting).
  • Ensures compliance with each state/line of business\' regulatory guidelines and requirements.
  • Works closely with department heads to gather requirements and support reporting needs.
  • Works with state reporting agencies to asses and develop required deliverables.
  • Responsible for creation and confirmation of completion for unit, system, integration testing scripts for development requests.
  • Supervises all functional, unit, system, integration, parallel, regression, operational testing to ensure that design objectives are being met.
  • Prioritizes enhancements and defect resolution as required for clinical application modules assigned.
  • Assists in problem/issue resolution and executes formal Change Management process.
  • Creates and supervises systems documentation to ensure standardization of agreed upon workflows.
  • Provides 2nd tier application support for the clinical community, serving as an escalation point for system issues.
  • Assists in the planning and coordination of assigned Clinical Informatics projects.
  • Participates in the development of clinical informatics protocols, policies, procedures, and quality metrics; and works to assure compliance with regulations.
  • Works with vendors to stay current on product features and aligns clinical applications strategy with the vendor\'s product road map.
  • Ensures departmental and individual performance goals are met.
  • Adheres to and consistently applies organization and departmental policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Maintains confidentiality and complies with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers and customers.
  • Complies with required workplace safety standards.Maintains regular and punctual attendance based on work schedule agreed upon.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.
  • Under the direction of the Manager of Clinical Informatics, the Clinical Informatics Analyst (CIA) serves as a technical leader for all applications, including the development and support of clinical, practice management and operational workflows.
  • The CIA provides a strategic approach for workflow analysis, device integration, planning and implementation as it relates to clinical systems.
  • This includes, but is not limited to, facilitating the communication, adoption and effective use of technologies supporting the use of the Electronic Medical Record.
  • The CIA is responsible for participating in the planning, development, implementation, testing, training, and maintenance of the electronic medical record application.
Technical Skills
  • Previous experience in planning and implementing a wide variety of large-scale, complex clinical systems implementations with a strong focus on end-user training and usage.
  • Conducts ongoing technology assessment of clinical information systems and products.
  • Knowledge of systems design methods and techniques.
  • Comprehensive knowledge base in healthcare informatics.
  • Proficient with standard business software programs including Microsoft Office and Outlook Business Skills Should have a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently, within a team, and collaboratively across teams.
  • Analysis, synthesis, and problem solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Multi-tasking skills and planning for prioritizing workload.
  • Communication Skills Facilitates effective communication with the end-user community and assists with clinic go-live readiness to ensure smooth implementation of new functional elements, applications and major releases of EMR system.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.Strong technical skills in report writing and reporting tools required, such as Oracle, SQL, Crystal, Business Objects or other reporting tools.
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS). SQL Programing.
Required Experience
  • 4+ years of system implementation experience EMR Implementation experience
  • Required License, Certification, Association Preferred
Education
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Healthcare, Business,Information Technology or related field preferred
