- Description of DutiesMainframe COBOL/DB@ development-Design, Code, Test, and Document in defined SDLC 90%Daily, weekly, monthly, ad hoc reporting 10%The Family Assistance (ACCENT/COTS) system relies heavily on experienced mainframe programmers to develop , test, and support the Department\'s largest and most complex system.
- We are seeking to bring a contractor with extensive experience on IBM Z/OS mainframe.
- The individuals will work on the following projects, or projects similar to the following :Analysis will need to be performed on 56 data cards that are updated manually to today and devise an approach to update this via a batch program based upon a schedule.
- Analysis will need to be performed on approximately 70 batch JCL\'s that currently require a date to be change in the JCL prior to the batch job running and devise an approach to update these so that automation can be done to execute these jobs without manual intervention.
- Once the analysis is completed on the data cards, develop a batch program(s) that will run on a schedule to update the cards without any manual intervention.
- Once the analysis is complete on the JCL members, changes will need to be made to eliminate manual intervention.
- Skills Set RequiredOne highly skilled Lead Programmer Analyst with at least 7 years experience in an IBM Z/OS mainframe batch environment using COBOL, Easytrieve, SyncSort, File Manager.
- This person should have experience working with ABEND debugging tools such as CA/ABEND Aid and IBM/Debug.
- The person should be a self-starter, highly motivated, a quick learner, and able to do both analysis and development. IMS database experience a plus.
