Manage new EDI Projects
  • Create new EDI project cases on EDIE.
  • Assign new EDI projects to developers.
  • Follow up with brokers and carriers to obtain technical contacts for all EDI projects.
  • Complete questionnaires from carriers regarding transmission methods, encryption, report routing, etc.
  • Attach all EDI project related documents to EDIE.
  • Provide assistance to developers during the course of new feed developments.
  • Follow up with developers, carriers and brokers after a feed has been moved to production.
  • Obtain sign-off from brokers upon successful implementation of new EDI project
  • Manage EDI Support cases
  • Continuous monitoring of the EDI mailbox.
  • Create Support cases on the case tracking system (EDIE).
  • Assign Support cases to EDI developers.
  • Provide clarifications on support cases to EDI Developers.
  • Manage Open Enrollment Rollover Feeds
  • Participate in conference calls with brokers and carriers to coordinate EDI during open Enrollments.
  • Create all open Enrollment EDI cases on EDIE and update all
  • Manage scheduler and manual uploads 4.1 Review scheduler logs daily and take appropriate action in case of failures.
  • Perform daily manual uploads of EDI files that do not go through the automated delivery system.
General Duties
  • Provide status reports during the weekly EDI Dept. meeting.
  • Communicate new EDI connections to Sales/Marketing team Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include the following: Good understanding of general EDI concepts including file transfer methods, EDI File layouts, acknowledgement methods, error reports, file reconciliation process and discrepancy reports, types of EDI files FULL vs. CHANGES ONLY.
  • Good understanding of roles and responsibilities of all business partners including brokers, groups and trading partners such as insurance carriers, payroll companies, etc.
  • Good knowledge of enrollments process with strong understanding of group / benefit plan structure, open enrollment processes, renewals, benefit tier structures, different coverage levels, subscriber/member additional, changes and terminations.
  • Good understanding of ANSI 834 Enrollments Transaction set.
  • Strong Project Management skills.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Basic understanding of Relational Databases including ability to write simple SQL queries.
  • Good understanding of software development practices.
  • Good understanding of programming methods. Need to have basic programming skills.
  • Good understanding of Software testing including preparation of test cases, coordinating testingwith developers and/or users.
