RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide operational support of databases to Operations, Client Support, Project Management, Application support, and IT installation/configuration, backup/restore, maintenance plans, patching, performance tuning and managing access.
  • Plan, implement, and administer database components including the development of database technologies through collaboration with other departments/divisions within the company as needed.
  • Design, build and deploy reports based on business needs for various groups within the organizationResearch and resolve database application problems in complex and varied multi-tenant production and customer facing environments.
  • Maintain 99.9% uptime in hosted applications.Respond to service desks tickets within established SLAs.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on call rotation schedule.Maintain a general understanding of our industry and trends and a thorough understanding of all company products and services and technologies.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • BSCS and 3+ years related experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a DBA role.AIX experience is highly desired.
  • 3+ years Financial Applications (e.g. Great Plains) preferred.
  • 3+ years Oracle experience in a production environment required.Financial Applications (e.g. Great Plains) preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle 10g (PL/SQL, SQL Query Tuning, Performance Monitoring/Tuning, Oracle Text).
  • Scripting (Shell, VB, Perl, Web).
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Web Development (PHP, ASP, HTML).
  • UNIX knowledge and experience
  • This position requires an intermediate level of expertise in administration, development, backup, recovery, and tuning of database components in very large databases (VLDB) in various environments and configurations.
  • The candidate must be comfortable researching and resolving database application problems in complex and varied multi-tenant environments.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks across varying projects.
  • Self-motivated and proactive thinking, team player.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • The ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Candidate must be a US citizen due to requirements governed by ITAR regulations
  • Must be able to pass a background check upon offer of employment
