Job descriptionSummary- The Ecommerce Operations Analyst (DevOps) is responsible for using performance and/or capacity monitoring tools to provide proactive operational monitoring, support and reporting to ensure the highest levels of availability and adequate capacity for the e-commerce environment.
- The e-commerce Operations Analyst will draw on network, ecommerce and operations experience to effectively partner with business analysts to shape application development for operational efficiency and performance.
Essential Functions- Proactively work to improve the health and performance of Gander Direct e-commerce environment.Manage and monitor performance and capacity tools and provide reporting to higher levels of management.
- Work closely with the infrastructure, application and development teams to ensure development and implementation of high performing ecommerce systems that are scalable, monitored and managed.
- Partner with developers and infrastructure to drive ongoing improvement on the e-commerce platforms performance and stability.
- Engage with e-commerce third parties to improve the performance of interactions with the ecommerce platform and network.
- Maintain currency with new technologies and capabilities to support operational efforts.
- Utilize tools and work closely with team members to investigate multiple fronts in the search for root cause of an urgent issueNon-Essential FunctionsComplete other duties as assigned.
Education- BA/BS in Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Years Of Experience- 3+ years experience in a developer, operations or infrastructure role performing DevOps type activitiesDemonstrated understanding of networking protocols, routing protocols and switching concepts
- 5+ years experience in ecommerce environments
Other Qualifications- Proven interest and ability to remain current with latest trends and emerging web technologiesExperience with Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools, Dynatrace preferredExperience with load balancers, F5 preferred
- Experience with ecommerce CDNs, search engine crawlers and other third parties and their interaction from a network and systems perspective
- Experience in the command line, scripting, automation of task and configuration of system monitoring tools
- Experience with software development lifecycles; development and production environmentsStrong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to roll new systems and applications into existing monitoring and reporting structure.
- Ability to work efficiently, independently, and serve as an active team member
- Strong written and oral communication skills; strong interpersonal skills; ability to lead smaller project efforts
- Ability to be on-call in response to needs of e-commerce systems being supported.
