Responsibilities:
  • The Front-End Web Developer is motivated to translate art to code and help create the future of our consumer facing applications.
  • This individual partners with the UI/UX designer and bridges the gap between graphical design and technical implementation. Additionally, this individual takes an active role in defining how our applications function, as well as developing the code that becomes the best user experiences for our audience.
  • Build/write reusable code and libraries for future useTranslate and convert the UI/UX design and wireframes into actual code.Collaborate with the team on the overall user experience.
  • Ensure technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Assure all user input is validated before submitting to back-end.
  • Establish new front end workflows and improve design-to-launch processes.
  • Remain knowledgeable and up to date with industry research, and use this knowledge to suggest new topics for others to learn.
  • Build applications responsively and know how to speak mobile first.
  • May perform other duties as needed and/or assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Proficient understanding of what it means to build websites responsively and mobile first.
  • Good understanding of front end frameworks such as Bootstrap and Bourbon/Neat.
  • Good understanding of CSS flexbox.Basic understanding of CSS pre-processing platforms such as SASS.
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript libraries, such as jQuery.
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates and AJAX.
  • Able to take a design from a layered Photoshop document to a fully-fledged code base.
  • Proficient knowledge of WordPress, including management and theme development.
  • Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
  • Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that applications will adhere to them.
  • Good understanding of code versioning tools such as git.
  • Wireframing and rapid application mockup experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of web accessibility, standards and coding conventions is a plus.
