  • Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing computer systems by performing the following duties.
  • A focus on SQL development technologies, developing trends and methods as required to keep Kewaunee systems on the leading edge of function and capabilities.
  • ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Primary development and process improvement focus for Syteline, our corporate ERP system. Using a combination of SQL, report writers (Crystal Reports) and some web centric skills (e.g. ASP.NET, C#, CSS, HTML), enable more Syteline functions to become the web to our clients, dealers and customers, and in future upgraded versions of Syteline.
  • Assist the Applications Supervisor in all functions as directed and gain sufficient knowledge to support the department in the event the Applications Supervisor is unavailable.
  • Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports
  • Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions, and steps required to develop or modify computer program.
  • Reviews computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations to determine if requested program or program change is possible within existing system.
  • Studies existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness, develops, and implements new systems to improve production or workflow as required.
  • Conducts studies pertaining to development of new information systems to meet current and projected needs.
  • Plans and prepares technical reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program development.
  • Upgrades system and corrects errors to maintain system after implementation.
