Sr. Sitecore Web Developer Location:

  • Washington,DCDefines content production roles and responsibilities. Assists with the maintenance of workflows for all Content Management Systems (CMS), including Drupal and Sitecore.
  • Maintains industry knowledge of content administration and management (CM) Systems utilized at WGL. Provides reports on system performance and formulates recommendations that maintain and/or improve system performance.
  • Schedules and documents system maintenance, develops and deploys scripts, and applies updates. Configures login options for general users and elevated rights users; tracks and reports on user roles to ITS Security.
  • Collaborates with application development teams to install, upgrade and provide emergency fixes/patches for software. Responds to production issues within defined service level agreements (SLAs); investigates and reports on root-cause analysis to ensure continuous improvement following production issues.
  • Follows company System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and at the same time, analyzes current processes and procedures to seek improvements. Experience with website development, maintenance and upkeep. Participates in IT change management activities.
Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in information technology or a related field. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a combination of application development and information technology (IT) operations, including: Minimum 1 year of experience with enterprise level systems and tools, CMS systems (i.e.; Sitecore) and supporting a multi-tiered corporate website. A minimum of 2 years of hands on experience in engineering/building systems and/or test automation.
  • A minimum of 1 year of Drupal experience. Configuration planning, testing, change management and support experience. Hands-on Shell scripting technologies and hands on debugging application issues experience. Sitecore CMS Certified Technology Specialist and Sitecore CMS Certified Administrator preferred.
  • Demonstrated general knowledge of running internet applications: (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, operating systems, security hardening, encryption standards). Apache, PHP, Lampstack, Nginx, and/or IIS; database software including MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, and/or Oracle experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships with business partners, supervisors, peers and external audiences.
  • Proven ability to use computer software and applications, including Microsoft Office, for data management, research and reporting purposes.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively, logically and concisely communicate verbal and written messages to diverse internal and external audiences.
  • Proven ability to work effectively as a member of various teams in a matrixed environment, which may include company personnel, project resources and third-party/outsourced vendors.
