The primary duties of the Data Modeler Senior are as follows: Perform analysis, design, data modeling, documentation, and end user training of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and BI systems. Develop and update data models, including physical and logical models of the data warehouse, data mart, staging area, and sometimes the operational data store and source systems. Guide and advise the Enterprise Data Warehouse Team in the design and implementation of Novant Health\\\'s Enterprise BI system. Work at the highest functional level of most phases of the design and development of an Enterprise Data Warehouse while considering implications of the application of technology to current and future business environment. Responsible for assisting team members as necessary. The following qualifications are the minimum necessary to adequately perform this job. Education: Bachelor\\\'s Degree Required Bachelor\\\'s degree in Computer Science or related field Preferred Experience: Minimum seven years of data architecture experience Required Minimum seven years relational and/or star schema data modeling experience Minimum seven years of experience with either agile or waterfall development lifecycles Required Ability to work under deadlines and heavy workloads. Capable of handling multiple tasks with minimal supervision. Must have strong conceptual, communications, and technical skills. Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions. Strong relational and dimensional data modeling skills using Kimball and/or Inman data warehouse design methodologies. Proficient with Erwin or similar data modeling tools. Proficient with data profiling tools. Working knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, and/or DB2. Strong experience writing complex SQL queries. Working knowledge of ETL tools such as SSIS and/or Informatica. Working knowledge of BI tools such as those from IBM Cognos, SAP, or Microsoft. Strong experience with physical database design, including views and indexing strategies. Ability to drive/travel to multiple locations/facilities.
