The primary responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Manager include, but are not limited to, the following: - Ensuring that a trained Quality Team of up to 5 members properly maintains, verifies, and validates all policies and procedures - Ensuring that the Quality Team is properly trained to makes sound decisions, and when necessary, review and modify the decision in order to best protect the safety and quality of the Brands manufactured at the facility. - Managing personnel related issues, ranging from selection of new associates, managing work schedules, performing evaluations, and coaching/counseling of associates when needed - Submitting and routinely monitoring and managing the department budget The job duties of the Quality Assurance Manager include, but are not limited to, the following: - Reviewing both the department budget and predict weekly and reporting updates and variances. - Ensuring proper management and assignment of day-to-day activities related to food safety and quality, including vendor approval program, HACCP programs, GMP and quality training programs, ingredient and environmental testing programs, and data analysis of key quality indicators with weekly reports/calls to company owners and senior leaders daily. - Managing Quality Assurance associates, including reviewing resumes, interviewing and hiring new staff members, helping associates learn and grow in their quality role, ensuring proper training of Quality Assurance associates, managing and approving associate expenses and time off requests, and conducing and delivering employee performance evaluations daily. - Ensuring compliance to Food Regulatory Agencies (both US and Export), Global Food Safety Initiatives (GFSI), SQF Level 3, customer, and company quality standards daily. - Reviewing customer complaint and consumer complaint data with management and customers weekly. - Assisting in investigation and proper resolution of quality-related product issues to ensure proper actions have been taken to ensure integrity of product, equipment, and facility, including proper documentation and reporting of these events daily. Desired Skills and Experience Experience â?? minimum of 5 years in a Quality management or leadership role
