Manager - IT eCommerce Solutions Architecture Charlotte, NC, United States Full Time Position Summary: Overseeing a team of experienced solutions architects that establish technical roadmaps to deliver business initiatives, create and maintain software best practices, support and promote R&D and innovation, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. â?¢ This team represents eCommerce ITâ??s business engagement leaders for new initiatives, and are responsible for aligning projects to both business and IT strategy. â?¢ The Manager leads the continued evolution of Clientâ??s website and mobile platforms which collectively make Client one of the fastest-growing eCommerce sites. â?¢ In addition to relevant technical experience, the ability to work effectively across other IT functions, and to understand and communicate in business terms is critical to this role. â?¢ This leader provides input to the overall eCommerce and mobile strategic direction and is accountable for translating and communicating the plans to the teams for tactical execution. â?¢ The Manager must have an excellent working knowledge of current and planned IT initiatives as well as internal and external technology trends. â?¢ The Manager often participates in both business and IT steering committees, ensuring that IT plans are implemented successfully, business benefits are achieved, and that there is alignment to eCommerce and enterprise architecture standards. â?¢ The Manager also maintains strong working relationships with vendors and ensures that Client receives the value for contracted services. â?¢ The Manager is also responsible for overseeing staff development. This includes performance appraisal, salary administration, assisting in career development and counseling, and ensuring meaningful assignments and opportunities for staff growth. The Manager role is one that requires team leadership, business acumen, professional bearing, systems knowledge, and strong relationship management skills with users and third party service providers. Essential Functions/Responsibilities: â?¢ Establish, maintain, evangelize, and communicate an ongoing strategic vision for Clientâ?? eCommerce and mobile platforms. â?¢ Evaluate new business requirements for technical and functional gaps against existing platforms, establish roadmap to deliver these capabilities in a sustainable way that promotes maximum global reuse. â?¢ Collaborate and influence peer IT groups and business leaders towards a technical vision. Be viewed as a trusted advisor to our business partners. â?¢ Ensures that appropriate information technology is applied in solving business problems and that information system processes, technology and capabilities enable the business decisions. Functions as consultant to the business on implications of emerging technologies. â?¢ Maintain current knowledge of software architecture and mobile technology. â?¢ Attract, retain, and provide career mentoring and growth high quality associates. â?¢ Ensure that our technology solutions meet the highest standards of security, stability and scalability. â?¢ Support security, compliance, and legal teams on matters related to eCommerce and mobile. â?¢ Ensure that application development initiatives are delivered that meet, or exceed, established both functional and non-functional requirements. â?¢ Effectively manage 3rd party vendors. â?¢ Participates in development of IT strategic planning ensuring linkage to the overall strategic business objectives of the corporation. â?¢ Directs the planning of short and long-term systems strategies for their area. â?¢ Applies managerial and operational controls to maximize return on technology and personnel investments. Requirements/Qualifications: Required: â?¢ 10-15 years of technical experience, including several years in an eCommerce architecture role. â?¢ 3+ years of management experience. â?¢ Proficiency presenting to, communicating with, and advising senior management. â?¢ Experience with high volume, high availability retail eCommerce systems. Preferred: â?¢ Proven track record in effectively leading software development teams is a plus. â?¢ Blue Martini experience is a plus. â?¢ Agile experience (particularly Scrum) is a plus. â?¢ Online security experience is a plus. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS â?¢ Bachelorâ??s degree in Computer Science or related discipline â?¢ Masterâ??s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, and/or an MBA, is a plus
