Title: Business Analyst Location: New York, NY Duration: 6 months contract Responsibilities: Document business requirements definitions for enhancements and new initiatives Document all POS technical related functions Develop plans and procedures used to implement changes and upgrades Manage software upgrades on POS systems Communicate effectively with users to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and foster relationships Effectively communicate relevant project information to management and senior leadership Create test scripts and cases Test new or upgraded hardware and software in the lab environment and in pilot stores, prior to rollout to all store locations, tracking and reporting issues Test and perform configuration changes Test and maintain security practices, including PCI, as it pertains to POS software and hardware and corporate servers Maintain Remote ware scripts Maintain all POS lab environments Administer BMC software Ensure stores are successfully polled nightly Phase implementation of new software and configuration changes to minimize risk of adverse consequences on store operations Requirements: Knowledge of Retail applications, especially POS systems. High energy, results driven, team building, coaching and mentoring Strong written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing Strong organizational skills Ability to understand, evaluate and interpret customer business needs and translate them into technical requirements. Ability to analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance and to distinguish customer requests versus true needs. Skilled at collaborating with developers and subject matter experts to create the technical vision Experience in writing project requirements through interviews, documentation, use cases and business process descriptions. Knowledge of Business case development Knowledge of testing applications required, including test planning and estimation, creating scripts and test execution. Knowledge and use of Testing Tools. EDI knowledge a plus Knowledge of Retail software and mobile a plus
