Graphic Designer Loc: Los Angeles, CA Dur: 7 month Essential Functions: The Graphic Designer is responsible for artistic and graphic design and creation of print and multimedia materials. The incumbent will use both design and production elements to organize ideas visually to convey the desired impact and message to the target audience. The incumbent will conceptualize, design and create a wide range of materials including: printed materials; exhibits; training sessions; television broadcasts; videos; web sites; and public information projects. This work will be used to reach a variety of internal and external audiences. In addition to aesthetic judgment and project management skills, the incumbent provides expertise in the development and evaluation of effective communication strategies and techniques. Required Qualifications & Experience: Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited four year college or university in graphic design or a related field along with five years of professional design and production experience. The incumbent must possess: comprehensive knowledge of graphic design, production principles, and communication theory; basic understanding of marketing and promotion concepts; and superior skills in Adobe Creative Suite. Must be dependable and organized, and have the ability to: work independently and with a team; plan, coordinate, and direct graphic art communications projects; handle multiple priorities; consult and communicate effectively with faculty, staff and students; and interpret and translate needs into effective visual formats. Incumbent must have ability to and interest in working in a multicultural/multiethnic environment. Fingerprints will be taken and checked by the California Department of Justice and the FBI. Special Desired Qualifications: Knowledge of university guidelines and standards, copy editing and proofreading skills.
